Michael Capponi is a dedicated professional with a background in entertainment, nightlife development, and real estate. Known as a champion of humanitarian issues, Michael founded Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) shortly after the earthquake in Haiti, where he worked to provide more permanent housing, food, supplies, and educational resources to those affected. Since founding Global Empowerment Mission, Michael and his team has made over 80 trips to the island. They provided victims of the earthquake with food, supplies, access to education, housing, and more.
Michael Capponi is the current President and CEO of Sol Group Global, a parent holding company that oversees integrated companies that span from sustainable development and tech to hospitality, wellness and entertainment. In 2019, the company opened their latest venture, Sol Group Bahamas inc., a real estate and lifestyle company emphasizing on sustainable and eco-friendly development in the Bahamas.
Professionally, Michael Capponi has undertaken some of the most notable real estate development projects in Miami, including Miami’s tallest luxury penthouse, the renovation of the North Bay Mega Mansion, the renovation of Miami Executive Aviation, and more. He has served each of his clients diligently, thus earning the trust of the community as a whole. Currently, Michael Capponi is splitting his time between his real estate ventures and his humanitarian efforts, which is near and dear to his heart.
Because of his incredible work with both Sol Group Global and Global Empowerment Mission over the years, Michael Capponi has been honored with numerous awards and recognitions. In 2017, the city of Miami Beach dedicated April 8th as Global Empowerment Mission Day, as an honor for all of the incredible work that the foundation has done around the world. Most recently, he was given a key to the city of Miami for his work with GEM.
Following the devastation of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas, Michael Capponi and Global Empowerment Mission held a collections drive in Miami, where they gathered basic necessities for hurricane victims. They also teamed up with Tropic Ocean Airways to deliver the supplies to some of the hardest hit areas in the Bahamas.
